Girls Trip

Lookie! Blogger let me upload some more, I didn't realize that these pictures were gonna take 15 posts to get to you all....please bear with me!
Check out the trash can....6 women=a LOT of beer!
The Fridge...notice the lack of food?
The cooler, we killed it...it's all hunched over.
My mom, getting ready to go out......how cute is she?
Kim, My mom and Lynn, the designated driver!
Mom, dancing in the car....
Still dancing (she partied the whole 2 minutes to the restaraunt.

Well, hopefully Blogger will let me get to the beach pics and then Hooter's pics from Friday night. Why can't you just put all of them in one past I ask?

More Girl's Trip Pictures!!!!

Blogger won't let me post all of these in one post, so here's pictures from Saturday night....

This is my cousins L & K. L was the designated driver for the evening (we were in her brand spankin new car, so...)
This is my mom & my cousin K.......yeah, alcohol was involved!
My friend K didn't get to go at the last minute, so here's Speck, Scan and me having a beer for her!
And this is her beer.....we drank it though!
Speck and my mom singing "Mustang Sally" which is my mom's all time favorite song!
My sister & My mom....
My mom & Speck
Someone had to ride in the back of the Yukon, here's K after our night on the town!

I'd say that after this we went in and went to bed, but I'd be lying. We went out on the balcony and partied some more, finally crawling our drunk asses to bed around 2:30 am. We had sooo much fun, but this is where the pictures end.

The Good News Is....

Well, we got some ok news about my grandmother. She went to the cancer doctor yesterday and they are going to do radiation on the tumor in her brain. The main reason is because as it grows it can create pressure on her brain and cause her to have a stroke. She is terrified of having a stroke, therefore her decision to undergo radiation to attempt to shrink the size of it. It's only 8 cm now, and the doctor is confident that the radiation will shrink it. It is the same type of cancer that is in her lungs and the largest tumor (the one the concentrated the radiation on) has shrunk since her round of radiation in the spring. She's attempting to fight it, which is something I really didn't think she would do. We're still realistic and realize that she will eventually succomb to this, but I am pleased to see her deciding to hang onto life (see...selfish me).
~~~
The hubs had his LASIK surgery yesterday and all went well. He has to wear these super cool goggles when he sleeps to avoid rubbing his eyes. I took a picture of them, but forgot to bring the camera to work with me today. I will get that picture up here soon, so that later he can kill me! When he woke up this morning he said he could already see better. I'm soooo jealous. I wish I could wake up in the morning and see......
~~~
Not much else going on, I still have to get girls weekend pictures up, but as I said forgot the camera again. I'll do that tommorrow.
~~~
Thanks so much to all of you for your sweet words after the post on my grandmother. It means so much to me!
Happy Wednesday!
This Sucks
Ok, I'm back from my girls weekend at the beach and we had a blast. I'll do a post on it sometime soon, probably tomorrow. I left the digital at home today so I couldn't post pictures anyway, and really it's not as good without seeing the pictures that go with it. Not only that, but we did have a damper on the weekend. We found out on Saturday that my Grammy's cancer has gone to her brain. It's been a weekend of highs and lows. We got this information after she decided to begin hallucinating on Friday night and threatening to pack her bags and move to Japan. My aunt took her to the hospital and they did an MRI which found the cancer. The hallucinations were a product of the tumor and her very low oxygen level. She was released yesterday and sent home on oxygen and we will eventually have to call in hospice. I thought I was doing fairly well with the news, however last night, in my extremely tired phase, I had a mental meltdown. I completely lost it. So today I am tired and I have swollen eyes. It's not a nice look. I also found out that my dad has cataracts on both of his eyes and will have to have surgery. This scares me as well. Man, I just have so much going on right now. I do promise to have lots of pics up soon from our great trip, but right now I just don't have the heart for it. I feel like I have so much more I could say, but I just don't know where to start with all these thoughts that are going on in my head. I'm wondering how to tell my 3 year old daughter when my grandmother does die. I'm wondering what's going to happen with my family after she dies (here's another post in and of itself, but my aunt is very domineering and there are some issues there that I think might drive our families apart after my grandmother's death and I hate this). I'm also hoping and praying that she doesn't suffer, but I don't want her to die. I'm selfish, I want her to stay here with me, but I don't want her to suffer at all. I pray that the Lord takes her quietly and peacefully. I spoke with her yesterday and she's ready. She's prepared and she's excited. She wants to meet Jesus and see her Mother, whom she hasn't seen since she was 13 years old. She's prepared to go and wants us to be prepared as well. I've actually never seen her more at peace. Shouldn't this make me feel better?
HEADING TO THE BEACH!!!!!
Yeah, again.
That's right, tomorrow I am leaving on my annual "girls trip" to the beach with my mom and sister. Tagging along this year are the sister's best friend, my best friend (and isn't this weird, my best friend and her best friend are sisters in law, as in they are married to brothers. And my best friend is married to the YOUNGER brother.), my cousin from Cullman and my cousin from Dadeville. That's seven women let loose for the weekend. If you happen to be in the PC beach area this weekend....LOOK OUT! (yeah well not Girls Gone Wild or anything). I plan to take lots of pics, and hope that my sister has no more Hooter's incidents. I'll give you a rundown on Monday. Hope everyone has a great wonderful fabulous weekend!
Veronica, I'll send you some beach love as soon as I get back..........is sand ok?
HAPPY 100TH!
This is my 100th post on blogger. Wow. When I started this blog, I did it as a way to put my thoughts down on something. A way to vent my frustrations, thoughts and anxieties (and honey, I have a ton of those). I never expected to find such wonderful people out there in the blogosphere. I have had the opportunity to get to know some of you and can't wait to meet IRL. I didn't know that would happen. I didn't know I'd make such damn good friends on the internet. Anyway, I'm not gonna be sappy on my 100th post, and I'm not gonna ramble on and on (as I am sometimes known to do).......instead I'm gonna invite you to read my very first post (damn, I've come a long way) and then go visit the 100 things about me and that's it. That's my post for the day. Oh yeah, you can also go have a fabulous drink somewhere to toast me if you would like. I might have one myself, say around 5:00 pm CST today? Can we synchronize our drinks?
Sexiest
I've been watching E television a lot lately and their "Sexiest" lists. They've done sexiest tv starts, sexiets rock star wives, sexiest movie stars, etc and that got me to thinking....who is on Manic Mommy's sexiest list? So here you go, my "Top 10 Sexiest Male Stars". I went stars so that I could include television, movies and music. (These also happen to be in random order, as blogger uploads photos how it wants to and not necessarily in the order that you told it's stupid ass to load them).
1. Ryan Phillippe......ahhhhhh Mr. Reese Witherspoon is just HOT!
2. Bruce Willis.........if you've seen my husband then you know I have a thing for bald guys and I have a thing for Bruce Willis. No matter what his age, he is just so very easy on the eyes.....
3. No list could be complete without Dr. McDreamy.......(don't you agree Veronica?).......Patrick Dempsey could be my doctor ANYTIME!
4. Now I know that Chesney girl will agree with me here.......is he not just the hottest singer on the planet? What they hell was wrong with Renee? If I had him, an annulment would not be happening! (FYI...in case you have no idea this is Kenny Chesney, then I can no longer associate with you!)
5. ahh..and yes we all now how I feel about this little hottie..........I wish he'd wear some deoderant, but you know.....he's still freaking hot......(duh...Matthew McConaughey)
6. Another doctor who can take care of me anytime............he's an ass on the show and IRL is married with like 10 kids or something, but geez...how hot is Justin Chambers?
7. Another hot country singer (who happens to be on tour with Kenny this summer, and whom I will be seeing in 1 month) is Dierks Bentley. He's hot in an unconventional sort of way.....
8. Here's the #1 reason I am such a huge huge fan of CSI......George Eads, he's one hot Crime Scene Investigator!
9. If you haven't caught Entourage on HBO, then you are missing the chance to drool over this hottie every Sunday night. He plays Vincent Chase on the show, but Adrian Grenier is just HOT HOT HOT!
10. Finally the end of my list....Josh Duhamel. I love Las Vegas, and this is the Number 1 reason why!
So, who would make your sexiest list? You can do a post or you can leave your list in comments........
I've Been Thinking
Yesterday, the Ladybug and I spent the day hanging out with my mom and dad because the hubster was gone all day playing golf with is buddies. And by all day I mean that he got up at 6:00 am and got home at 9:30 pm last night. They went to some golf course that is supposed to be "awesome" and is like 2 hours away. Seems like a hell of a long way to go play golf to me, but I'm not a golfer so what the hell do I know? And it was expensive so they played 36 holes to get their money's worth. Whatever. Since I'm leaving him with the Ladybug for the whole weekend (and missing a family reunion....) I didn't complain. We got up and went to church and then hung out at my mom's so long that we ate 2 meals with them. It was a fun day though. I haven't gotten the chance to hang with my parents that much lately because of our busy schedules so it was nice.
Anyway, on to what I've been thinking about (and yes, me thinking is scary). My mom and I were talking yesterday about the state of our world. She was talking about how when she was little and they had bomb drills beccause of the constant threat of nuclear war because of the US's friction with the Soviet Union. She says though it was nothing like the shit that is going on today. And see, this scares me. What kind of world is my daughter going to grow up in? What is the state of this country going to be when my daughter is my age? I'm very scared for my daughter. I'm scared for myself as well, but more so for her and what she may have to face in her lifetime. Scary shit is going on in this world. From the fighting in Iraq, a war of which I do not believe in, however I will continue to support our troops, the maniac running North Korea with his missilles ready to take aim on us at any minute and now the all out war in Beruit and Isreal. I wonder what will become of all this.
See, shit like this scares the hell out of me. And it is one of those things where I have no control in whatever happens. It's here that I have to trust my faith in God and our country's leaders (and I have little faith there) that they will protect us. I have always been one to worry about things that I cannot control, which is the number one reason why I have an RX for Xanex. But this shit? This shit scares me more than anything.
What about ya'll? What are your thoughts on this?
Friday, July 14, 2006
Is it just me?
Or is the state of this world really getting scary? From the war in Iraq, to the idiot in North Korea to the craziness going on right now in Isreal and Beruit? What the hell is going on?
Hmm........
Yeah, see today I don't really have anything to post about. I have some things going on in my head, but I haven't figured out exactly how to put them on paper (or screen, as this is a blog and my keyboard is my pen). I'll come up with something in due time I am sure. Sometimes it's hard to come up with something new and exciting to post about all the freaking time. I try to post everyday during the week because I don't post on Saturday and Sunday because those are my family days and well because my dad took the AOL internet access that I was pirating from him away (he got DSL....Slacker!) I don't even have internet access at home anymore. I could change that, except I'm not sure I want too. I don't want to spend all my time at home on the weekends on the computer. So for right now, we are internetless at the Manic Mommy hacienda. I blog at work. I blog at work when I should be working. I'm sure I'm not alone here. I know that I don't want my boss (or my shitty ass coworker) to know that this blog exists, but for all I know they both already do and I guess then I don't really care. I don't really share anything on here that I wouldn't want them to know anyway, because I'm pretty sure that shitty ass coworker knows how I feel about her anyway.
~~~
Anyway, because I have nothing at all to blog about, I've been thinking about my upcoming 100th post. This is post 95 (I think) so basically my 100th post would hit next Friday if I blogged something everyday next week. However, I will be heading to the beach next Friday and will not be at work, therefore pushing my 100th post into the following Monday. And then I'll have beach stuff to blog about and how do I combine the 2 of those into one post? Or should I not? Any suggestions on this upcoming event in my blog life?
~~~
Shit, sorry this posts sucks ass today. I wish I had more for ya'll, I really do. Happy Friday!
My Daughter, Television Star
For the fourth time in her short life, my daughter is going to be on television. This time it was a little more planned than just being caught on camera as the news did a story on the Christmas lights at the zoo or dancing on camera when they did a story about our town's annual City Fest celebration. This time she is a bona fide star. My cousin did a commercial for her store, and guess who she got to be in it (besides her own 2 boys of course)? You guessed it the Ladybug. She was a natural. She did exactly what they told her to do and was extremely proud of herself. I think she could have a future.
See, she's already tired of the paparazzi!
~~~

Sister Update: She is healing nicely and most of the swelling is going down, so she doesn't look quite as silly. She's finally seeing the humor in the situation.

~~~
Grandmother update: My grandmother had a bone scan done yesterday and the cancer has not spread to her bones. THANK GOD. The one tumor they were trying to shrink in her lung has shrunk some (after 3 weeks of radiation treatments) however she has developed a mass of pneumonia underneath this mass (which was a major concern all along). She is doing well and still has quite an appetite. The doctor gave her some more medicine for pain and to help with the persistent cough she has from the pneumonia. We're still going to lose her eventually as she still has Stage 4 lung cancer, but the good news for the time being is that it hasn't spread and that she's still fighting it pretty hard. In January when she was diagnosed the doctors gave us 3-6 months. We're at 7 months now. On Tuesday he said she was doing well and gave another 3-6 month timeline. I just pray that she keeps fighting.
~~~

Also read on Veronica's blog that she was doing well after her surgery too!

~~~
I have some new pages up over on my scrappin site!
Daddy's Little Helper
Over the long Forth of July weekend, the hubster redid the sides of our deck and also fixed the back porch where I fell through the wood. He had a little helper along for the ride. I got some great pics of them doing their work, so in absence of a post on this "nothing going on Tuesday", I'll give you these:
This is the Ladybug and her daddy, please notice the matching tool belts!
The Ladybug posing before "getting back to my portant work mommy"
"gotta get a pencil so I can make my marks"
Measuring......
More measuring, she was very throurough.
"Let's see how tall this is"
And here's the supervisor, the ever lazy Mollie dog keeping an eye on things, from the safety of outside the door!
~~~~

Please go over and send my sweetie Veronica some love today, she had her nose surgery done. Girl, I bet you are going to look awesome! Can't wait till you are up on your feet again! (Please, come back soon, I miss you already!)

How I Spent My Weekend

As most of you know, I went to the beach this weekend with my sister and her boyfriend. They hubster also went. We got down Friday night around 8:30 and then went to Pineapple Willey's for some dinner and drinks. We had a great time and then headed back to the condo where we went to bed because all of us were tired after having worked all day.
Saturday we hung out at the beach ALL DAY and had a great time. We stayed hydrated (or so we thought) by chugging lots of water in between our beer. I did have one umbrella drink for you Greta. Here is the only shot I took ont he beach the whole day. This is me and my sister and is a self portrait. I guess I could have taken the shades off!

We came in a got dressed and went to Hooters. We wanted to sit outside, eat some wings and drink some beer. Plus some guys were fighting on PPV and they guys thought they could watch it there. My sister had other plans. Before I get to that story here's some shots of us at Hooters. This is me and the hubster.....

Me & my sister...... (I look much reader in this picture than I actually got, not too mention my face looks ghostly white!)

And here's my sister and her boyfriend, I'm not sure why he's sticking his toungue out.

So that's all the pics I took. Before the evening took a turn for the just plain weird. After eating my sister started feeling weird. At first we thought it was something she ate, but since we all ate wings and we were all fine, we decided it had to be something else. She said she had to go to the potty so her and I went inside. We only made it in the door before she FAINTED. In HOOTERS. OMG. I about had a hissy. I was so worried. Turns out she was dehydrated. They called the paramedics who came and checked her out. She had hit her lip when she fell so they thought we might want to have her checked out at the local hospital. Note: If you are ever in Panama City Beach, Florida and you hav to go to a hospital and you have a choice (as in your are not dying or unconciuos) DO NOT GO TO Bay Medical Center. They suck. When we arrived they were not very crowded so we took this as a good sign. Yeah, um WHATEVER. They called her back rather quickly, yet another good sign. Then they sat her in a room and FORGOT ABOUT HER for 4 hours. It wasn't until she decided to sign herself out against medical advice (she had to sign a freaking book) that a doctor finally paid attention to her. And then only to tell her that because the cut was in the inside of her mouth and wasn't a gaping whole that he couldn't put stitches in it anyway. WTF? Why could they not have told us that when they put her in the room? Or why not when the triage nurse examined her? Seriously. We found out later that the normal wait time for this ER is 9 hours. Thank God we left. She's fine minus a swollen upper lip and a majorly bruised ego after fainting Hooters. We're supposed to go back to the beach in 2 weeks and she's wondering if the Hooter's people will remember her. How could they not remember the girl who passed out in Hooters? Big shout out to them though, they were awesome (except one would have thought they might have comped our meal but yeah, no) and took very good care of her until the paramedics arrived. Our waitress Britany was AWESOME!

Minus the little trip to the ER, it was an awesome weekend and we had a great time. Once we realized that goofball was fine, it was actually quite a funny story!

Mentally I'm already there

So, the hubs and I are heading to the beach today, as soon as our workdays are done. I am leaving at 3 to go pick up the stuff and gas up the car and pick him up on our way out of town. Mentally, I am so already chillin in the sand with a cold beer in my hand. I'm having a hard time willing myself to work today. And sadly I've only been here 20 minutes. How long is this day going to be? God, please just let it be time to go soon. I'm so ready to be out of this town and at the beach. I love the beach. I love the salt air, the salt water and the smell of just being there. It's only a short trip, but I plan on making the most of it. Tomorrow if you need me, I'll be in a beach chair, completely useless (so try not to need me).
Here's another little cartoon to make your Friday......

Have a great weekend!

The Bitch is Back!

Did ya miss me? I missed ya'll! I was having blog withdrawals this weekend, but since I was pirating my dad's America Online and he went and switched to DSL through Bellsouth, I no longer have internet access at the hacienda. Will work on that soon, especially after the weekend I just spend with no access to my daily blog addictions whatsoever. It was however, quite liberating! We had a great weekend and I took lots of pictures and then promptly left my camera at home this am. Man, I did not want to go back to work! On the bright side, it's a 3 day work week and I'm headed to the beach this weekend!
Some news of note though. Due to the following money reasons:
1. Our TV in the den is FRIED, and CANNOT be repaired (or so says the Sears repairman that made we weight 6 hours on his ass on Monday) therefore we must by a new one (because I am tired of sharing the TV remote with the husband, we so don't watch the same things);
2. We had to redo our back porch because my fat ass fell through one of the boards (SHUT THE HELL UP right now, because I know all of you are laughing your asses off) therefore we had to shell out money. Note: our house is 110 years old and I think the wood on the porch might have been that old as well. There has been a slight crack in this board for quite sometime and on Friday night it gave way under my ass. NICE.
3. To avoid having to charge our newly paid of credit cards back to the max....
The wonderful, heavenly vacation has been put on hold. We're gonna save our moolah and instead pay on it for a year. We'll go next summer. Yeah, I am dissapointed, but however am very proud of us for not just charging the shit and going anyway. We have worked very very very hard to get out of our mountain of debt and I am proud of us for making such a smart financial decision. Any extra cash we had is not going to the above mentioned shit. We are still going to take a romantic getaway, just to the Gulf of Mexico as opposed to Mexico.
We did do some work on our deck, see when we built it the hubster only put treated wood on the bottom, therefore the sides (railings and ballisters) were rotten. So this weekend he pulled off the old sides, complete with hitting our spicket and spewing water all over the yard causing him to have to temporarily cut off the water to our house, and got most of it put back up. He had the most precious little helper. I got some great pics, but as I said, left the camera at home today. I did end up with my "me" day on Monday as he took the Ladybug to work with him. He only had to pull a 1/2 day so she went along. I hear they had a fantastic time. When we weren't tearing up shit at our house, we were at the pool. We had a lovely 4th and I hated to have to return to work today.
I hope all of you had a great 4th. I will get caught up with each of you in due time. My desk is a dissaster and I'm just trying to pull my way out of it. In the meantime I leave you with this....

WTF?
